A Southern Love Tale Of Mystery & Magic

Love can make us do crazy things, and for Marvin and De'Mara, they are no exception. Destined to cut ties with her toxic lover, De'Mara invokes the help of Ms.Cecilia, a master of mystery and mischief. Or is she?

A Southern Love Tale is one of the first short stories I've published. I wrote this story many years ago as my first attempt to write a suspense or horror story. As a beginner author, I always wrote from a point of view in my own personal life, and believe it or not there is some truth even in this story. I experienced my first love many years ago and although it was a toxic relationship it was one that I found hard to let go. So hard to the point where I considered some form of black magic to detach myself and my feelings from this other person. Having grown up in South this wasn't a far fetched idea as it's rather common but also can be a bit taboo.

Don't Let Me Die In Vain

In the first half of this short story meet high-powered attorney Tina Haraj. Tina would literally die for a chance to save a woman like Angela Ranskin a young lady accused of murdering her abusive lover. Will Judge Miles see it Tina's way or would it all have been in vain?!

This short story was written years ago as I began my recovery from an emotionally and physically abusive relationship. I was in awe of how many people knew this side of my then-partner and remained silent. Unfortunately, it isn't uncommon for silence to be so loud in situations of this nature and those similar to it. In DLMDIV the protagonist is given another chance to save the life she was all too familiar with.

And The Beat Goes On

Jordan Grier's parents were well-known hustlers in their small city of Charleston, South Carolina. After a traffic stop goes wrong, Tyrone and Suga's only son is left in the care of the community's grandmother, Mrs. Margaret. Grandma Margaret raised Jordan to always be the change he wants to see others. With a black cloud that seems to constantly hang over his life, Jordan has found it almost impossible to see the good in others, including himself. One night while closing the local corner store Jordan, comes face to face with "change", a change that will ultimately save his life. Will it be enough for Jordan to finally become the change Grandma Margaret spoke about for so many years?

ATBGO is my second novel. This book marks more of the creative style of writing that I want to become known for. I want to capture the multifaceted people that make up the Black community. There are so many layers to us and my goal is to continue to represent the characters and plots not commonly written about. Yes, it is still true to our community but my goal is to shine the light on the stories and people that do not fit the stereotypical character and storylines that we are used to watching and reading about. In this story, I wanted to show how every personal choice and decision we make can affect others around us. Sometimes we forget that our personal bubble is really not as personal as we think. This story will show the journey of how past decisions can and will affect future outcomes.

The Bricks That Built She

Bella La'More slowly begins to realize that her life has been controlled and manipulated by the adults around her, more specifically her estranged and egotistical mother ,Angela. When she is forced to return to her, she gets an up-close and personal look at a lifestyle and woman she was destined not to become. Struggling with adult issues in her adolescent years, Bella is faced with accepting that some family traditions are generational curses in disguise.

TBTS is loosely based off of not just my life but many of others that I came across during my child and adulthood. TBTBS focuses on the way in which many of us have been raised within the Black community.

Emma & Leigh

This is my first attempt at a psychological thriller and I could not be any more excited or TRIED! LOL. This story is really growing my skills and talent as an author.

In what's to be my third novel Emma & Leigh are witnesses to a horrific tragedy that causes dramatic changes in both of their lives. Emma has became a germophobic recluse that has tried to escape the ugliness of the world by hiding in doors for over ten years.Leigh on the other hand is a wild card. Her way of handling the ugliness in the world was by working her way up the ranks of the local police department. Now Detective Leigh Mahoney is trying her best to protect her sister and her small community from a serial killer on the loose.

Again this is another story where I am wanting to expand on my creativity. There are no life lessons no personal attachments (other than my sister's name is Emily.)
